Organizations are continuing to fill their open positions, members are expanding their horizons by taking on new roles, and others are saying “bon voyage” as they announce their well-earned retirements. Join us in celebrating members’ successes and wishing them luck on their new adventures!

New Roles
Tricia Alvernaz, Director of Operations, CalTravel

I am doing a takeover of this issue of Tricia's Members on the Move newsletter so that I can announce that CalTravel has promoted Tricia Alvernaz from Operations Manager to Director of Operations, reflecting the increasingly vital role that she plays in running all of CalTravel's operations. In addition to managing our customer database, website, billing, IT, and event and meeting production, she has taken on much of our graphic design and customer communications work. She will be adding to her responsibilities the management of our new hire, see below. 

Lynn Bruni-Perkins, Interim CMO & Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, San Francisco Travel

San Francisco Travel has promoted Lynn Bruni-Perkins to Interim CMO as the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, joining the executive team as the marketing representative. Lynn has been a vital part of the marketing division at San Francisco Travel for nearly 15 years, leading the Global Marketing Communications team in developing domestic and international leisure and business-to-business marketing campaigns. In her new role, she will work across the organization to develop and expand integrated marketing programs that extend the destination’s global reach and drive business to the region. She will also continue to play a key role in leading the Global Marketing Communications team through the recovery of tourism business to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dan Rosenbaum, Senior Director of Global Marketing, San Francisco Travel

San Francisco Travel has promoted Dan Rosenbaum to Senior Director of Global Marketing. Since 2010, Dan has been an integral part of the marketing division at San Francisco Travel, leading content development and advertising, social media strategy and planning, and analytics across leisure and international visitors. He powers each campaign with actionable strategies that drive meaningful KPIs and measurable ROI, with a deep understanding of marketing funnels and customer journeys. His elevation recognizes his outstanding work, contributions, leadership, and expanded duties. In his new role, he will take on additional responsibilities in the areas of digital media and advertising and continue to be responsible for global advertising programs, agency management, and performance campaigns.

New Hires
Mark Haneke, Chief Marketing & Air Service Strategy Officer, Ontario International Airport

Ontario International Airport (ONT) has appointed Mark Haneke as Chief Marketing & Air Service Strategy Officer. Mark joins the ONT team as a distinguished aviation industry executive with 30 years of experience. He has traveled to more than 120 countries on all seven continents and knows well what makes airports most appealing to airlines and air travelers alike. Mark previously served as Manager of Air Service Development and Marketing at Sacramento International Airport (SMF), where he was instrumental in growing airline seat capacity by 28% and flight departures by 22%. In his new position, he will spearhead air service development, as well as oversee marketing, communications, community engagement, customer experience, and digital media operations.

Kristin McGrath, Executive Director, Visit Pasadena

Kristin McGrath has been named Executive Director of Visit Pasadena. Kristin joins the Visit Pasadena team with her over 20 years of experience in the tourism industry, specializing in destination management, sales, and marketing. For the past five years, she has served as Vice President of Sales, Services & Sports at Visit Albuquerque. Prior to that, she served as VP of Sales & Services at Richmond Region Tourism and VP of Sales & Services at Providence Warwick CVB. In her new role, Kristin will function as the chief administrative officer for the Pasadena CVB and be responsible for its management, organizational development, planning, and direction. She steps into the role at a critical time as the tourism industry rebuilds from the pandemic.

Patricia Snowden, President & CEO, Stay Pleasant Hill

Patricia Snowden has been named the new President & CEO of Stay Pleasant Hill. With over 30 years in the hospitality industry, Patricia brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to her new role. At only 30 years old, she held her first General Manager role at the San Jose Airport Courtyard by Marriott, followed by other Marriott Hotels in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received her Certification from the Coach's Training Institute of San Rafael and then branched out on her own to do corporate training and development for Marriott Hotels. Patricia is most proud of her work on Marriott’s first-ever diversity council and continues to be a champion for DEI in every role she has. She is known for building strong community relationships in her work with several Chambers of Commerce, CVBs, and Rotary Clubs.

New Members
Richard Cutting-Miller, Executive Vice President, Road.Travel

Richard Cutting-Miller, Executive Vice President of Road.Travel, is a senior travel and tourism industry executive with more than 25 years of international experience, focused on consulting, strategy, product development, research, and industry advocacy. He has worked in more than 65 countries and 350 destinations around the world. His previous positions include EVP for Resonance Consultancy and EVP for the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). He holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma. Road.Travel is an all-in-one solution for creating and publishing curated routes with storytelling, booking capabilities, and an industry-unique budget optimizer.

Micha Boxer, Executive Director, Travel & Tourism Marketing Association

Micha Boxer, Executive Director for Travel & Tourism Marketing Association (TTMA), was born and raised in the Greater Los Angeles area, and has a heart for SoCal. She is experienced in event planning, promotions, and digital marketing, and has worked in the entertainment, holistic, outdoors, and travel and tourism industries. Her career began in the education sector and has taken her to companies across Los Angeles, including Hard Rock Cafe, Allied Integrated Marketing, and the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. TTMA's goal is to enhance the effectiveness and knowledge of professionals working in the travel and tourism industry, educating and updating members in the areas of marketing, communications, tourism research, and planning skills.

Retirements
Howard Pickett, Chief Marketing Officer, San Francisco Travel

San Francisco Travel has announced that Howard Pickett will retire as Chief Marketing Officer. Since joining the organization in 2013, Howard has been the creative “voice” of San Francisco Travel, overseeing all efforts related to the brand and its core audiences. During his time, he has taken San Francisco Travel’s award-winning marketing efforts to an entirely new level, earning industry accolades and consistently raising company benchmarks year after year. Prior to San Francisco Travel, he served in leadership positions at a variety of organizations, including Walt Disney Company, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, and Kerzner International. He departs San Francisco Travel leaving behind an excellent marketing team to carry on the vision of San Francisco and lead the organization into the future.
