Our latest California Comeback guest speaker is Andrew Leary, Director of Sustainable Tourism & Partnerships at Leave No Trace. He’ll join us by Zoom next Tuesday, February 28, at 2:00pm to discuss the important work they’re doing to protect the outdoors and how organizations can partner with them to create a more sustainable future for tourism.
As a member of the Leave No Trace Education Team, Andrew builds strong partner relationships with tourism and travel professionals, closely working together to achieve long-term goals and objectives where Leave No Trace services destination stewardship. Adjacent to Leave No Trace, he brings a perspective from his ongoing work in the adventure tourism industry as an expedition ski guide, as well as previous experience in sales within the outdoor industry.
Andrew has a MS in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism from the University of Utah and a BA in Journalism from the University of Oregon. He was also recently appointed to the U.S. Travel & Tourism Advisory Board, which advises on how government policies and programs affect the travel and tourism industry and offers counsel on current and emerging issues to support sustainable growth of the travel and tourism industry.
Fun Fact: Andrew has walked through every time zone on the globe.
