California Sports Summit


ADVANCING SPORTS TOURISM

The inaugural California Sports Summit will serve as the premier annual convening of sports commissions, destination marketing organizations (DMOs), and key industry stakeholders from across the Golden State. Designed to elevate collaboration and strengthen California’s position as a global sports destination, the Summit will provide a focused, high-level forum for leaders to connect, align, and advance shared priorities.

ABOUT THE SUMMIT

Hosted by the California Sports Coalition, the Summit will bring together sports commission and DMO executives, event rights holders, venue operators, and strategic partners for a full day of impactful programming and meaningful engagement.

Attendees can expect:

  • Curated one-on-one appointment sessions connecting destinations with rights holders and partners to drive future business opportunities

  • Insightful panel discussions and peer-to-peer exchanges centered on industry trends, major event attraction strategies, funding models, and emerging opportunities

  • Policy and advocacy conversations aimed at strengthening California’s competitiveness in hosting national and international events

  • Best practice sharing across event operations, community impact, sponsorship development, and destination branding

Strategically scheduled to immediately follow the Sports ETA Chief Executive Summit, the California Sports Summit will take place at the InterContinental San Diego. This timing allows industry leaders already convened in San Diego to seamlessly extend their engagement, maximizing participation and collaboration among the state’s top decision-makers.

By bringing California’s sports tourism leadership together in one place, the Summit aims to foster stronger partnerships, amplify the state’s collective voice, and drive long-term growth and impact for communities throughout California.
